ETMU-blog was established in June 2010 as a popular scientific forum for researchers in the field of ethnic relations and international migration. The purpose of the blog is to publish research-based columns and commentaries on international mobilities, migration, ethnicity and other topics related to ETMUs field of activity. We aim to publish a column once a month, holiday periods excluding.
Views expressed in the columns are the authors’ personal opinions and evaluations which do not necessarily reflect ETMU’s views.
Instructions for authors and commentators
We welcome anybody to submit a column or a commentary to the editor-in-chief of the blog. The text needs to be based on research or otherwise evidence-based views. We only accept unpublished texts. Authors and commentators will write using their own names, unless there is a strong reason to use pseudonyms. Commentaries are short comments on the previously published texts. The editorial board will review all materials prior to publication and will decide upon publication, editing or rejection.
We publish texts which deepen and broaden our understanding of popular debate on migration. The style is ‘studia generalia’, i.e. accessive to the wider public without academic expertise.
The lenght of the columns is max. 5000 characters incl. spaces and commentaries max. 3000 characters incl. spaces.
You can include (max. 5) references to your columns and link to other webpages. The list of references is not included in the wordcount.
We accept submission in Finnish, Swedish or English.
