\u201cI am Camilla (she\/her), I came from Italy to Finland 11 years ago. I am finalising my PhD in human geography about the everyday life of people with a refugee background in Turku, Finland. Later this year, I will start as project researcher in The Endings project (funded by the KONE Foundation).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My work aims at amplifying people\u2019s own experiences and definitions of self, citizenship, refuge and the spatio-temporal aspects of such experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am part of collectives that challenge academic and national boundaries and that strive to put research at the service of everyday social justice: the Activist Research Network (https:\/\/mailman.abo.fi\/mailman\/listinfo\/activist-research-network<\/a>); We See You ry (https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/weseeyoucampaign<\/a>); Every Woman\u2019s Centre (https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/kaikkiennaistentalo<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have been in ETMU\u2019s board for 2 years. I am honored and humbled to pick up the chair\u2019s baton and work together for ETMU to remain and further grow as a (self-)critical community for social justice in society and the academy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
