Nordic Migration Research (NMR) and Society for the Study of Ethnic Relations and International Migration (ETMU) invite workshop proposals for a joint conference, which will be both the 20th Nordic Migration Research conference and the 17th ETMU conference. The conference, titled Colonial\/Racial Histories, National Narratives and Transnational Migration, will take place at the University of Helsinki, Finland, in August 12\u201314, 2020<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We in particular invite workshop proposals that address the conference theme from various disciplinary viewpoints, but we also welcome thematic workshop proposals focusing on a wide range of topics that are relevant for scholars of international migration and ethnic relations. We encourage multidisciplinary workshops, including workshops that present studies that utilize art-based methodologies, and examine the role or arts in narrating colonial\/racial and national histories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We invite for workshops that include 1\u20133 sessions, each session comprising 3\u20134 presentations. You may propose full workshops with already selected presenters, or fully\/partly open workshops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Submissions for workshop proposals should include an abstract of the workshop (max 2500 characters with spaces) and the names, affiliations and contact information of the organizers. Deadline for workshop proposals is November 18, 2019<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Selection of the workshops will take place by December 16, 2019<\/strong>, followed by the call for papers. Workshop organizers, in collaboration with the conference organizing committee, will be responsible for selecting the papers for workshops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
