Call for Workshops: 19th ETMU Conference in Joensuu November 24–25, 2022, deadline on April 30, 2022 (Deadline extended: 13 May 2022)

Please note! We have extended the deadline until May 13th, so you may still submit a workshop proposal. See you in Joensuu!

The 19th ETMU Conference will be organized at the University of Eastern Finland, Joensuu, Finland, on November 24-25, 2022.

Mobile Lives, Glocal Complexities – the 19th ETMU Days invites people to discuss contemporary and historical mobilities and migration at local, national, and other meaningful levels, and to explore global/local intersections and encounters. The conference also broadly welcomes papers in the areas of migrant integration and contribution, racism, ethnic relations, and international migration. We hope to advance multidisciplinary perspectives across such fields as the humanities and the social sciences, but also across the borders of arts, civic action, and science.

See the full conference theme here.

We invite suggestions for workshops by April 30, 2022.

While the conference will mainly be arranged as a live event, a number of workshops may be arranged in a virtual (but not hybrid) format. Please state in your proposal if you intend to host a virtual workshop.

The Workshop proposals should be e-mailed to the Conference Organising Committee at: uef-mobilelives@uef.fi as an attached WORD document

With the submission make sure that the names, contact details, and institutional affiliations of the Workshop organisers are provided in the document accurately. Please name the WORD document as follows: TitleoftheWorkingGroupProposal_Organiser1_Organiser2

Acceptance notifications will be sent in the first weeks of May, and the call for papers will be opened on May 16th. The workshop organizers, in collaboration with the conference organizing committee, will be responsible for selecting the papers for workshops.

The full conference programme will be announced on September 15, 2022.
