My name is Thomas Babila Sama. Currently, I work as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Unit of Social and Public Policy, in the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Helsinki, Finland. I am holder of a Doctor of Social Sciences Degree (Ph.D) obtained in 2012 from the University of Jyväskylä, Finland.
My doctoral research focused on the role of NGOs in the implementation of Active Labour Market Policies in Finland and Sweden. I have worked in projects relating to the academic mobility of migrant scholars in Finland, and have served as board member of several NGOs focused on multiculturalism in Finland, one of which is the African Association of Central Finland, where I was chairman for several years. I have been an ETMU board member since 2017. In my free time, I like to go to church to worship God since I am a Catholic Christian, travel and play football.
