ETMU ry:n tunnustuspalkinto jaetaan vuosittain ETMU-päivien yhteydessä tunnustuksena etnisten suhteiden edistämisestä ja siihen liittyvästä merkittävästä tutkimustyöstä.
ETMU ry:n jäsenet voivat tehdä ehdotuksia vuosittaisesta tunnustuspalkinnon saajasta. Ehdotukset lähetetään ETMU ry:n hallitukselle, joka palkinnonsaajasta päättäessään huomioi kaikki ehdotukset. Ehdotukseen tulee sisältyä myös perustelut palkinnon myöntämiselle ehdotetulle henkilölle.
